A rapid damage assessment team is working tirelessly in the fire grounds east of Perth and “there is a likelihood that the number of homes lost will increase once that work is completed”.

Sewa Australia, along with the supporting organizations, has taken the initiative to collect funds to help the bushfire victims.

Current Estimated damage is:

• 80+ homes were confirmed lost, but that number may rise
• 100+ families affected.
• 200+ firefighters worked tirelessly
• The blaze has stretched 80kms and burned through more than 9000 hectares.
• There was no loss of life reported
• Evacuation warnings were put in place for some areas, but for others, it was too late to leave
• Authorities said it was OK to break Perth’s COVID-19 lockdown to flee the Bushfire
